Dr. Anosh Ahmed, M.D. is an eminent internal medicine physician, a visionary entrepreneur, and a philanthropist who has given back to his community in numerous ways. Dr. Ahmed’s professional achievements in medicine have been spotlighted by Thrive Global and other national publications.
Dr. Ahmed has made many notable contributions to the medical field. Dr. Ahmed is not only a medical practitioner, but he is also a leader who inspired trust among those he worked with.
Coming from a humble background, becoming a licensed physician was one of Dr. Ahmed’s most significant accomplishments. He started his medical journey as a resident physician at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Ahmed was responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of adult patients. Dr. Ahmed took a compassionate and personalized approach to the practice of medicine.
After his residency, Dr. Ahmed served as the Chief Operating Officer of Loretto Hospital, where he oversaw a clinical team of more than 150 physicians and 600 professional staff. There he provided change management and leadership for a 177-bed private hospital that serves more than 33,000 patients per year. Dr. Ahmed played a central role in directing the effort to transform the hospital into a teaching medical center known for groundbreaking research and community education. As the Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ahmed leveraged his business acumen to significantly improve the financial performance of Loretto Hospital. He increased revenue from $60M to $100M in a little over two years.
In 2021, Dr. Ahmed also founded the Heart of Health Clinics, a nonprofit that focuses on making healthcare accessible to the underserved, including the uninsured and refugees. Making healthcare more accessible to all has been one of Dr. Ahmed’s lifelong goals. “Taking care of people is what makes the world a little better, one place at a time,” says Dr. Ahmed.
Medical Education
- Dr. Ahmed received his medical degree (M.D.) from Windsor University School of Medicine, graduating with honors. He was also on the Dean’s List and graduated cum laude.
- After medical school, Dr. Ahmed completed a lengthy Internal Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago.
- Dr. Ahmed also completed a Principles and Practices of Clinical Research program at the prestigious Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health.
